    Amanda Rattray –Marketing/Promotions Intern

I initially started interning at X103.9 for college credits for CSUSB-class of 2010, but was instantly hooked. I’ve been an intern for 2 years and absolutely LOVE being a part of the X-crew! It’s always an adventure (to say the least) working events from MNF at Pharaoh’s Lost Kingdom to 2nd Avenue Saloon Friday nights. As an intern, I’ve received several perks because your hard work never goes unrecognized!

Here’s a couple fun facts bout me:

-Currently I live in Rancho Cucamonga and have worked at PF Chang’s for 5 years.

-I love to change my hair color every chance I get.

      -Newcastle is my favorite beer.

-I’m a very sarcastic person who loves to go out and have fun!

      -Pantera is my favorite band.

-I’m obsessed with any show on the Food Network especially Chopped!

I’m very happy with the time I’ve spent here and have met people I can actually call my friends, not just coworkers or listeners. I’ve grown and learned so much throughout this experience and hope to pursue a career in Marketing very soon!

    Esther Ortiz - Station Photographer

I've been with X-1039 since 2008 and I love it! Being from the High Desert, coming down here to travel all over San Bernardino with our on-air jocks and X-Team is always an adventure.

Being the station photographer definitely has it's perks! The photo pass has been my golden ticket to be in the pit to photograph Mötley Crüe, Ozzy Osbourne, Papa Roach, Soundgarden,Bush, Chevelle....just to name a few.

Some of my guilty pleasures are: Pizza, Midori Sour, 80's music/movies and romantic-comedy movies.
I love Depeche Mode, Motley Crue, Sixx AM, Van Halen (w/ David Lee Roth), The Police....classic rock! My Rock-Star crush is NIKKI SIXX! ♥

I feel very blessed to be able to do what I love and work with people who have really become like family.
It's a really interesting job and I can't wait to see what the future brings!

     Frank-O -  X1039 DJ/Promotions Intern/Music Enthusiast

I started at X1039 in 2009 after listening to an on-air spot saying that they were looking for interns. So, I gave it a shot & have been here ever since. My experience here has truly been amazing & I wouldn’t trade it for anything else. A little back round info on myself:

-Originally from the L.A. suburbs & have moved all over the I.E. Fontucky, Colton, Rialto, San Jacinto, & San Berdookie just to name a few.

-Graduated H.S. in 2004 from Eisenhower in Rialto. Tried college, but didn’t dig the fact that I had to pay for education so I’ve educated myself by reading & researching things that I WANT to know about. I guess you can say that I’m “autodidact” & the “common sense” type.

-I’m musically diverse! Listen to it all, since I believe that ALL music derived from each other. One sound created another, & therefore I’m open to all styles, genres, formats, & crowds.

-Originality is key! There will always be the people that FOLLOW the crowds & trends. Myself, I’d rather be comfortable doing ME & could careless about what’s popular.

-I’m driven by positivity! Keep your negative vibes & gossip away from me!

Listen to me Rock the I.E. every Saturday morning from 4am-6am & follow me on twitter @RaginFrank_O. Also, iPhone users follow my wandering eye if you have the “Instagram” app @frank_o. Much love & peace to you all.

Carlos L. Segura - Radio Geek

Carlos has to be one of the hardest working people in the industry who works for free. His on air persona's name is Wedge and he hosts the Wedge Radio Show, which is a talk radio show online that is 5 days a week and is at the least 2 hours each day. He manages everything for the show and still somehow finds time to work a mediocre job.

For Carlos, Radio is everything, which is quite frightening, and there is no way he will not make it. Either at a station or on the internet. His tenacity will either be what makes him great or what will destroy him.

Carlos has a Bachelor's of Art in Radio, Television, and Film from Cal State University Fullerton. When starting College, Carlos wanted to write and direct films, but one thing inspired him to make the leap into a completely different field in the entertainment industry, luckily it is within the same major.

What inspired him was Grand Theft Auto 3, oddly enough. The "talk radio" segments on the game started his fascination. After discovering real talk radio, Carlos' problem is the lack of time during the day to listen to it all.

    He is inspired by:

    (in order of discovery)

Chatterbox - Grand Theft Auto 3

Frosty, Heidi and Frank - KLSX 97.1FM

Opie and Anthony - Sirius XM

    and

Ron and Fez - Sirius XM

Carlos is pushing more and more from him and his cohost to make the Wedge Radio Show the greatest show ever to have existed and to put out philosophical ideas. The future is bright and currently he is trying to expand his show online and make a network of several different talk programs.

    Jason-X-Team Marketing/Promotions Intern

I've been a Intern with  X-Team for a little over 3 years.  Being with the X  has been a good experience for me it has showed me the business side that radio has to offer along with meeting new people.

Some of the things I like doing in my spare time when I am not interning for the X are working at my other job, Concerts, watching Horror Movies, going to Theme parks and Spending time with Friends and Family.

Two of my favorite Movie directors would have to be Tim Burton and Wes Craven. If I had to choose to of my favorite cult movies I would have to go with Rocky Horror Picture show and  Repo man the genetic opera.

    Natasha Avalos - Marketing/Promotions Intern

Let's see here....I've been at the X for almost a year now. Interning here has been an amazing experience and I'm very grateful to be apart of the team.

A little about me, to make a long story short, I'm from Rancho Cucamonga and I love my city. I wanted to be a rock-star when I was younger, that didn't work out.

So now I'm here at the X and I hope to put my experience towards production management or some cool shit like that.

Let's see what else? Oh yeah...

Love: Hardcore, Trance/House, just music in general. I love partying, raving, making baby makin' music, my phone, make-up, Thai food and pink berry. Mmmm....

Hate: Dub-step, drama, cheese, yelling, smelly boys, people that love to hear themselves talk, cheap beer and Afrojack.

But really though, I've met some of the coolest and most down to eath people here at the X and can't wait to see what my future here has in store.

    Maria Genovese - Promotions Intern

I've just started my internship at X 1039 and I know I'm going to love it! I've lived in the I.E. my whole life and gre up with a huge crazy family. Everyday seems like a party when you  have 2 hilarious brothers and 2 amazing sisters!

I love meeting new people and having a great time no matter what situation I get myself into. I probably spend at least a third of my day laughing....and sometimes even wake up laughing from a funny dream.

I love going to the beach, watching scary movies and of course...Red Bull!

My favorite bands are: Pepper, Incubus and Blink 182!

My life has been pretty interesting. Wonder what's going to happen next!

    Isaias Sanchez - Promotions Intern

“Did somebody say Jell-O?” Ohhh yeah!

I’m just your random guy who just enjoys life, takes the time to read a book in researching what else is around us from the abnormal to the normal.  It’s a never ending journey of risks that I’m willing to take and go for what I want because in the end were the only ones that can really concern our goals!

I’m a huge music geek, earning a degree in Music Engineering. I learned how to play a variety of instruments and currently learning how to play the piano.  X 1039 is no stranger to me, it first introduce me to Deftones back in the late nineties (One of my favorite bands). What inspired me to intern for X was determination of wanting to make something of myself and things couldn’t be any better!

Been a part of the X crew for 6 months, worked a few events from 2nd Ave in downtown Upland to Soundgarden in the summer (If you see me drop me a shout out) and its only getting better by the second. The crew rocks, fans are always fun to be around with, but importantly I couldn’t ask for a better place to be a part of that’s so musically passionate. Besides  surrounding myself around music, I enjoy the simple things in life such as friends, family and anyone that can teach me a thing or two that I haven’t got the chance to learn, now that’s cool!

Frank Hetfield - X TEAM Intern

I've been wit X1039 for only three months and I couldn't be happier. I've come to learn and meet alot of awesome people here, that have made it easy for me to adapt.

I am a resident of the beautiful and unpredictable city of Pomona a.k.a. "P town" and have lived here ever since I can remember. I am a first year student at Mount San Antonio College, where I am currently studying radio and television broadcasting but before that, I was a 19 D ( Delta) Cavalry Scout in the United States Army and now a Veteran of the Iraqi War.

I personally enjoy hard rock music and the likes of Slayer, Testament, Dying Fetus, Immolation, Megadeth, Pantera, etc. but most of all, I like Metallica. I am a very laid back easy going person that is social, enjoys a good laugh and keeps a positive attitude.

I enjoy playing sports especially soccer, running, the beach, trying to learn how to snowboard, music, travel and anything that keeps me interested. I very much look forward to learning and acquiring new skills here at the X and giving it my all every opportunity that I get and seeing where this new ride takes me.

    ROBERT(O)

    HOMETOWN: Beaumont

    SCHOOL: Crafton Hills

LIKES: Eating, coffee, going to the movies and anything to do with music.

    DISLIKES: Stuck up girls.

FAVORITE BAND: Wow, there are way too many but some are Less Than Jake, Alkaline Trio and Bad Religion

IF I WON A MILLION DOLLARS I WOULD: Party!

IF YOU COULD PICK ANYONE TO GIVE YOU A LAP DANCE, WHO WOULD IT BE? Adriana Lima

WHAT'S ONE THING YOU WOULD NOT WANT YOUR MOM TO KNOW ABOUT YOU? Yeah right, knowing her she'll read this!

WHAT'S YOUR WORST PARTY EXPERIENCE: I so don't  even remember that night!

Estefania Torres - X TEAM Intern

My name is Estefania Torres I am 19 years old and I attend college. Some people may describe me as ambitious, positive, and passionate about my dreams. My goals are to be one of the best entertainment news reporters in the world, yes bigger then Ryan Seacrest. I will not stop until I become the best news reporter EVER! I have been interning with x103.9 for about 2 months now and I think it’s safe to say that they are some of the best people to work with and learn from. It’s only been 2 months and I have learned so much about radio. I love my life and everything and everyone in it. I love talking and meeting new people, so if you see me at an X103.9 event come say hi!

Richard Rasner - Station Photog Major Events

Richard Rasner is a professional photographer based out of Riverside, CA, with two other photo studios in Anchorage Alaska and Beijing China (not to mention three additional studios on the way in Las Vegas, Dallas, and Tel Aviv). Besides taking all the portrait photographs of the X 103.9 DJs you see here on the website, Richard's work also shows in art galleries and museums worldwide. He tours internationally on book signing tours and gallery showings, and his team of Nakayama Studios photographers can be seen at all sorts of events around the Inland Empire, as well as national and international events and concerts.

Richard cut his teeth on live music photography as the lead staff photographer for Mojo Republik Magazine (a division of Universal Records) shooting such bands as Nine Inch Nails, Panic! At the Disco, REM, Billy Idol, Stone Temple Pilots and hundreds more. After shooting Duran Duran's “Red Carpet” tour in Las Vegas, the veteran band requested use of the images for their website stating it was some of the best shots they had ever seen in their long career. Richard loves to shoot for KCXX as much as he is available (read: in the country) and will continue to do so as long as they let him. Live music photography is a passion he likes to pursue alongside his more famous nude portrait work for a unique change of pace. Tony Deluca (aka) Anthony

I have been with the X since 2008! Let me start off by saying what an amazing time I've been having! I come from San Diego and for the first year I drove from San Diego to the X for every shift I worked! That's how much I enjoy doing what I do for them! Juggling my band, two jobs (including this one) and being a college student/DJ can get me a little stressesd out,but when I come to work at the X I know good times with good people are yet to come.

I'm a big believer in UFO's and alien conspiracies. Extraterrestrials and the paranormal kind of puts me off in a different genre than normal people.

Besides all that, good times and I know even better and unpredictable times lay ahead for me at an amazing Alternative Rock Stationknow as the X! And for all of you that don't know, I'm also the guitarist and vocalist in the band, Audio Underline. Be sure to check out our site at: www.AudioUnderline.com

Nick Valdez – X1039 DJ/Intern/Lover of the Juan Pollo chicken burrito

I started interning at the X in early 2011 and couldn’t be happier to be part of the familia.  I was born and raised in Los Angeles and love to surf. Now that I spend a lot of time in the I.E. though, I am stoked to start snowboarding more often.

Some of the events I’ve worked since I’ve been at the X are:  $2 Tuesdays at Déjà Vu in Redlands, Club Bliss in Hesperia, Mountain High, and Deftones at the Fox Theater in Pomona.

You can also hear me on the air Sundays 3pm-8pm, and whenever Dirty D or Bobby Sato are too hungover to come into work.
