Mumford & Sons took home the award for Best British Group last night (February 20) at the Brit Awards. In order to nab the Best British Group Award, Mumford and the boys had to beat out Muse, the xx, One Direction and Alt-J.  Mumford & Sons lost out on Best Live Act, however, to Coldplay, who now own eight Brit Awards. Coldplay also beat out the Vaccines, the Rolling Stones and Muse, who opened the awards show with a performance of "Supremacy" alongside a 60-piece orchestra. Other winners last night included Adele, who won the best British single prize for her James Bond theme "Skyfall".  Adele sent a message of thanks from Los Angeles, where she is rehearsing for Sunday's Academy Awards.  Copyright(c) 2013 RTTNews.com.
