Weekdays 3pm - 5pm. WIN BIG in Happy Hour 5pm-7pm
Why are you in radio?
It’s all I’ve ever wanted to do since I was 8 years old. We had a large record collection in my house, and as a kid I would always play “radio DJ”. I guess I never grew up!
What makes a woman sexy?
Intelligence. Humor. Class. Confidence. Knowing you’ve got the goods without having to show them to everyone.
What makes a dude cool?
You would need to ask a cool dude. I’ve always been just a big geek.
What song has changed your life and why?
Music in general has absolutely changed my life, both live and recorded. So many great songs have affected me at different times. But there is one song that has helped me over and over, when things got rough. It’s embarrassing to admit, as it’s a cheesy song from an 80’s hair band that never really got that big. It was “Fight The Good Fight” by the band Triumph! Don’t judge.
What X1039 artist would you want to play your birthday party?
Ultimately it would be TOOL in a small venue.
What is the stupidest thing you’ve ever done?
They say you learn from your mistakes. Let’s just say that I’m now a genius.
What’s the coolest thing you’ve ever done?
No question- becoming a Dad! We’ve got 4 great kids, and I’m super-proud!!
What’s your favorite football team?
Raiders baby! And let’s be clear right now… I was a fan of the OAKLAND Raiders from childhood. Stabler, Tatum, Madden. I was the ONLY Raider fan I knew as a kid and it was awesome! Then they came to LA and all of a sudden everyone was a Raider fan. Silver and black ‘til I die!!
Who is your favorite artist that you’ve interviewed?
My favorite recent interview was with Chester and Phoenix of Linkin Park. My favorite artist that I interviewed that turned out to be a total “a-hole” would be Maynard from TOOL/Puscifer/A Perfect Circle. Total disappointment.
What is your favorite part of the job?
I love mostly all of my job. No job is perfect, but this is very close. From programming the music, to creating promotions it’s great! But my favorite is the time I get to spend on the air. Nothing matters but the music and the listener. It’s unlike any other relationship you can have.
What is the one thing that would surprise many people to learn about you?
I recently took 2nd in a Men’s Physique Competition.
What artist would we be surprised to find on your iPod?
I’ve got a bunch of Frank Sinatra and Benny Goodman on there. I really dig it, and it reminds me of my Grandparents who I really miss.
Who is your favorite on-air personality not on your staff and why do you like them?
Growing up I was heavily influenced by an LA jock by the name of The Poorman. He was always pushing the envelope, trying new things, and made radio super-fun. Unfortunately he ended up pushing the envelope too far, too many times, and is no longer on the air.
Do you have a favorite hobby outside of radio?
I really enjoy going to the gym to workout. I’d go everyday if my schedule allowed for it. It’s a combination of stress-relief, getting my mind focused, and making myself the best ME that I can!
Who would be a dream guest to have on your show?
Dave Grohl from the Foo Fighters. Dude is the ultimate rock star!
What’s your favorite munchie?
Even though I usually eat pretty clean, I have a terrible weakness for chocolate chip cookies and the delicious dough! Especially the dough!! That is my kryptonite!
What is your favorite kind of X1039 listener?
I love all 6 of them! Thank you for being there for us!!
What’s your favorite kind of beer?
It will always be Pacifico!
What music do you listen to when you do your laundry?
I like to put my iPod on shuffle!
What’s your favorite sport?
I’m a huge sports fan, so I’ll watch anything really. Even tennis! But my absolute favorite is American Football.
