Why are you in radio?
That’s what I’ve done since college radio. When you go to the point night. Look around at all the lights. Those are all potential listeners. Knowing that thousands of them enjoy my company daily is very gratifying. I don’t take them for granted. When I see someone from our staff roll their eyes at them, or speak of them in a negative way, I get angry on the inside.
What X1039 artist would you want to play your birthday party?
TOOL would be excellent; Muse would be a great party.
What is the stupidest thing you’ve ever done?
I’ve done too many to have a topper
What’s the coolest thing you’ve ever done?
Snowboard. To really ride. Not to just slide down a hill and call myself a snowboarder, that’s what poseurs do. Come ride with me this season in Snow Valley and I’ll show you what posers don’t do.
What’s your favorite football team?
Oakland, the team that
What’s the naughtiest thing you’ve ever done?
Really? If I were to answer this one, it would be in the Penthouse Forum. Writing anything that resembles Penthouse Forum would make conservative people very uncomfortable; maybe even call it “sexual harassment.” I’m not falling for that trick. If you want to find out, bring your “A” game gurl.
Have you ever said someone else’s name during sex instead of who you were with?
Nope. I don’t use proper noun when having sex.
Hair or bare?
What’s more important: boobs or butt?
Butt. I’m more of an ass man than a boob guy. Not even into big ol’ bitties. I like a sporty c-cup or less. But the butt and legs, that’s what I’m looking at.
Have you ever had sex in public?
Have you ever read 50 Shades of Grey? What are your thoughts on it?
Didn’t read it. I just want some illogical fans of the book to remember that it’s fiction.
Who is your favorite artist that you’ve interviewed?
Jared Leto (30 Seconds to Mars) and Ivan Moody (5FDP)
How would you describe your first radio gig?
College radio with a bigger wattage than X1039
What makes X1039 unique? How would you compare it with other radio stations you’ve worked at?
Lol. You don’t want to go there. Not enough time in the world.
What are you doing Social Media-wise?
Facebook, twitter, Instagram. I forgot how to MySpace.
What is your favorite part of the job?
Connecting with people. Saying what people want to say but can’t or won’t.
What is the one thing that would surprise many people to learn about you?
I wish we lived in a much simpler world. Cave men didn’t have boarders, property lines, laws and rules.
Who is your favorite on-air personality not on your staff and why do you like them?
Hollywood Hamilton. The world of radio needs more compelling content that has continuity.
Do you have a favorite hobby outside of radio?
Cooking, foodie, snowboarding, Thai boxing, dirt bike riding
What advice would you give to people new to radio?
Rely on content, not attitude. Have something compelling to say, not just attitude. Say it in a clever way. Anyone can just talk. That would be diarrhea of the mouth.
What is your favorite kind of X1039 listener?
Interactive. I mix it up with people all the time.
What’s your favorite kind of beer?
IPA, but I’ll also do light beers.
“Local, local, local”, has always been radio’s mantra. How do you keep your station visible in the community?
I’m out and about in the community all the time. You can’t do radio and connect with people just sitting in a studio. If you want to do a good job, you have to go meet people.
